Many people hate Windows Vista....REASON: It takes longer time to start and shut down...Below is the
solution to this problem…no need for extra RAM….512 is enough…

Under programs, click “Change startup programs”. Windows Defender opens up showing a list of
programs that start automatically when Windows starts.

Click “Show for all users”

Here you will find all the programs that start automatically.
Some applications need to start automatically because it ships with the operating system and is required
in order for the computer to start…

Click on an application and you will see its description on the right….
Click on the program you want to disable and then click “disable”...to disable it

Warning: Under Microsoft, Do not disable Microsoft Userinit Logon Application and Windows
Explorer

Do not disable the driver for mouse (pointing device) and graphics…..if not sure, then go to device manager and under mouse and display adaptors, see the driver and its installation path…

Now get back to windows defender and check the application’s description for the path…..compare and if it doesn’t match and only if you are sure, then only disable it.

You may disable your antivirus and can later manually start it after windows has started.

You may also disable Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment, Windows Defender, Microsoft Media Center Tray Applet, Windows Media Player and all other players you installed later such as real player.

If your computer has Intel graphics media accelerator, click on Intel(R) common user interface and check its description…the ones with file path C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe
and C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe…Disable it.
